Raccolta fondi per la Giornata mondiale della donna 2024
Chiara Lippke
On the occasion of World Women’s Day 2024, it is a heartfelt mission for us to spotlight the stories and concerns of women. As Team PURELEI, we aim not only to raise awareness but also to actively contribute to supporting women. Therefore, to celebrate International Women's Day, we will be launching the EmpowHER Necklace and donating 100% of the net proceeds from its sales to the Hawaiʻi State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
What is the Hawaiʻi State Coalition Against Domestic Violence?
The Hawaiʻi State Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a non-profit organization based in Hawaii. It is a consortium of programs and shelters throughout the state dedicated to combating domestic violence. Founded in 1984, the Coalition's mission is to address the impact of domestic violence on individuals, families, and communities, whether on a social, political, or economic level. Additionally, they actively address issues such as racism, ableism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other systems of oppression, particularly concerning gender-based violence in Hawaiʻi.
Why the Hawaiʻi State Coalition Against Domestic Violence?
PURELEI draws inspiration from Hawaii—the beautiful islands, the people, and the Aloha Way of Life serve as our greatest source of inspiration. Therefore, with the support of Alisa's contacts in Hawaii, it became clear to us that we wanted to use the net proceeds from the EmpowHER Necklace to support victims of domestic violence in Hawaii.
Hier einige Hintergrundinformationen:
- According to the CDC, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in Hawai'i have experienced sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by a partner (CDC, 2017)
- The report "Domestic Violence in Numbers 2021 for Hawai'i" documented the care of 950 adults and children on a single day (NNEDV, 2022).
By wearing the EmpowHER Necklace, you're not only making a statement for female empowerment but also supporting victims of domestic violence.
Fundraising Campaign for Women's Shelters in Germany
Since domestic violence is a significant global issue, we, as Team PURELEI, also want to actively support women in our home country, Germany. According to the 2022 situation report from the Federal Criminal Police Office, a total of 240,547 people in Germany fell victim to domestic violence, with women accounting for 71.1% of the victims.
Therefore, on International Women's Day, March 8, 2024, PURELEI team members in Mannheim will pack urgently needed donations, including those contributed by the team, their friends, and families, to send to the following organizations:
Horizont e.V. München
Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e.V.
Frauenhaus Wuppertal e.V.
How Can You Help?
If you also want to support women in crisis, there are various ways you can help. You can donate directly through the linked websites of the organizations or look for organizations in your area to support with monetary or in-kind donations.
Thank you for joining PURELEI in supporting women and demonstrating the importance of women standing together and helping each other.
