Hawaiian Christmas Magic

Follow us down the rabbit hole to our Hawaiian Christmas Wonderland. Discover a magical world of pink mountains, cream-colored palm trees and large-leaved flowers in the color of sand – all made of paper. We are so in love with our own little paradise!

This December our motto is “Make Christmas Personal”, therefore we wanted to shoot the new footage in a surrounding with personal meaning to us. How it all started? As we are not able to travel to Hawaii right now, we wanted Hawaii to come to us. When planning this year’s Christmas campaign, our creative team remembered the magical moments when they were kids. Strolling through the city, with all the festively decorated shop windows, fairy lights and beautifully crafted decorations making them want to live inside this enchanted winter world – we are sure you can remember this feeling, too. These memories sparked an idea in their heads, with Hawaii as the main topic. Sounds like a huge project, doesn’t it? Luckily, we found the talented Carolin Wanitzek, an installation artist from Mannheim

As soon as we saw some of her previous work, we were amazed by her art and how she brings colorful paper to life in three-dimensional landscapes, plants and animals. We told her about our vision, what our Hawaiian Christmas world looked like in our heads, and Carolin did her magic. The outcome is absolutely gorgeous and left us speechless.

We hope to keep this little, inspiring world alive for a bit longer, but sooner or later it will have to go and make space for new projects. Our hearts already hurt just thinking about it. If you have started to worry about what will happen with all the wonderful paper art after Christmas: Of course it won’t just go to waste! Our magical Christmas world is 100% recyclable and the parts that are still good to use will be donated to a local school or kindergarten.

Do you want to find out more about our Hawaiian Christmas world and Carolin’s work? Check out this video for some more insights and see how it was built.

We would love to hear what you think about our Hawaiian Christmas setting. Leave a comment and tell us what your personal Wonderland would look like. We can’t wait to find out!

Team PURELEI wishes you and your loved ones a magical holiday season!

Love,

Chiara
